It is always helpful to your 1st grade child if you practice things with them at home. Every day, your child will bring home a DEAR book to share with an adult or older sibling.  Please take the time to help your child read this book, or listen to him/her read and sign the reading booklet.  When the booklet is full, your child will get to choose a prize from our treasure chest.  Reading is the most important task we can accomplish this year and any help you can give your child is very much appreciated!

It is also very important that your child get the physical activity s/he needs to gain coordination and strength for his/her school day.  Plenty of sleep at night is also necessary for your child's ability to function well and attend to tasks in school.  What we all want is a well rounded, happy individual who is ready to take care of him/herself in any situation.  Hopefully, we are continuing to build that trophy winning foundation in 1st grade.
